Riad Botanica is nestled in the heart of Marrakech’s historic Medina, a short walk from the vibrant souks and the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square. The riad’s location offers the perfect balance between immersion in the city's energy and a peaceful retreat. While the narrow, winding streets of the Medina can be overwhelming for first-time visitors, the riad provides clear directions and even offers a pick-up service from the airport or a nearby parking area. If you arrange a taxi transfer through the hotel, a friendly man from the riad will be waiting for you upon arrival. He not only greets you warmly but also carries your luggage through the winding streets to the riad’s entrance, making the arrival process much smoother and more comfortable.

Upon arriving at Riad Botanica, I was immediately struck by the sense of calm that contrasted with the bustling streets outside. The riad’s entrance, framed by lush greenery and traditional Moroccan tilework, set the tone for a serene stay. The check-in process was seamless, with the staff offering a warm welcome, refreshing mint tea, and local snacks while we waited for our room. The interior courtyard, featuring a beautiful plunge pool surrounded by exotic plants, nice decoration, created an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. It's a real Instagram worthy interior.

From the moment I stepped inside, it was evident that Riad Botanica is more than just a place to stay, it’s an experience that blends authentic Moroccan hospitality with a touch of modern comfort.

I stayed in the Orange Blossom room, a beautifully designed space that perfectly embodied the charm of Riad Botanica. Located on the first floor, this generously spacious Super-King Deluxe Room blends modern luxury with timeless charm. Guests enjoy direct access to the orange tree, along with a private sitting area and balcony overlooking the tranquil central courtyard and pool. The room offers the choice of a double bed or two separate beds, making it a flexible option for different types of travelers. The warm pink and orange tones create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. While there is no traditional wardrobe, there is a rack with hangers to store clothing, along with a small cabinet with drawers and a mini-fridge for added convenience. The room overlooks the peaceful patio, where the gentle sound of birds chirping enhances the zen-like ambiance, making it a truly unique retreat for discerning guests. Guests have the option to choose between a double bed or two separate beds, making it a flexible choice for different types of travelers. The room features warm pink and orange tones, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. While there is no traditional wardrobe, there is a rack with hangers to store clothing, along with a small cabinet with drawers and a mini-fridge for added convenience. My room featured intricately carved wooden details, a plush bed with soft linens, and a beautifully tiled en-suite bathroom. The attention to detail was impressive, from the locally sourced bath products to the ambient lighting that added to the cozy atmosphere. Despite being in the heart of the Medina, the room was quiet, allowing for a restful sleep after a day of exploring.

Facilities & Activities 9/10

One of the highlights of Riad Botanica is its stunning courtyard with a small but refreshing plunge pool; a perfect spot to unwind after a day in the heat or discovering the city. The riad also offers a rooftop terrace with comfortable seating, where guests can enjoy panoramic views of the city while sipping on Moroccan tea. Additionally, the riad provides guided tours, cooking classes, and wellness treatments, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Moroccan culture without leaving the property.

Dining Experience 8.5/10

On our first evening, we chose to enjoy a three-course dinner on the rooftop. Since we visited in October, the temperature was cooler, but the riad thoughtfully provided blankets, making it a cozy and comfortable experience. The food was delicious and full of flavor. One thing to note is that Riad Botanica does not serve alcohol. So if you were looking forward to a nice glass of wine with your tagine, you might be disappointed. However, they do offer tasty alternatives, such as their homemade iced tea.

Breakfast is also served on the rooftop and is a truly delightful experience. It is not a buffet, but rather a selection of beautifully presented dishes brought to the table one by one. The breakfast spread includes a variety of Moroccan specialties alongside fresh fruit, pastries, and freshly brewed coffee, which was excellent! Breakfast at Riad Botanica was a delightful experience, featuring a mix of fresh fruit, homemade pastries, traditional Moroccan pancakes, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff accommodated dietary preferences and ensured that each meal was beautifully presented. While the riad does not offer a full restaurant service for lunch and dinner, they can arrange private dining experiences or recommend excellent local eateries nearby.

Riad Botanica offers a unique blend of tranquility, style, and hospitality in the heart of Marrakech. The combination of a prime location, beautifully designed spaces, and exceptional service makes it a worthwhile stay for those seeking an authentic yet comfortable experience. While the price point is slightly higher than some other riads, the personalized service and attention to detail make it a great value for money.
